Did I feel like journaling? Absolutely no. My head was telling me it was futile and that I was well into failure, and that my gospel of thriving relationships was a hoax. Against this loud negative voice that had grown so strong, I took my pen and book and wrote my way out of negativity.

Marriage is one of the most interesting relationships known to man. Two different souls with different desires and ambitions meet and choose to espouse each other.. Having a competitive spouse can be a big blessing because the spouse can be the engine behind the family’s business or career prosperity. There are other times in the relationship when the dreams become incongruent.

During my downtime, I enjoy watching cartoons, especially the classic ones. I am an avid fan of the loony toons, Tom and Jerry, the Flintstones, the Jetsons, Animaniacs and the ever so hilarious Scooby-Doo.

Marriage institution has been facing serious attacks from every conceivable corner and some of those in it are not making it look any better to outsiders. The vows become obsolete as soon as the ceremony ends and the struggles start to materialise at the honeymoon stage. My take on this gloomy picture is that couples do not do their homework before boarding the marriage wagon. There are a few deal breakers that should never be overlooked when dating. These deal breakers apply to lovers looking to solemnize their relationship, irrespective of their cultural background, faith or income level.

From these definitions, we note that Counselling and therapy focus on solving an existing problem while coaching focuses on improving the individual or couple or group. Coaching focuses on goal achievement, the "how are we going to do it by when". While Counselling is more clinical and problem-solving oriented, coaching is more flexible and goal oriented.
